The internment of COL McGuire

I was interned in Switzerland from April 1944 to March 1945
I attempted to escape in September of 1944, but was apprehended near the French border. For this I was confined to a criminal prison in Geneva under harsh conditions.
I was then transferred to Wauwilermoos prison camp. We were treated like hardened criminals. It is difficult to recall an image of having been a professional soldier since June 1936.
I was returned to the Swiss Camp at Davos in November of 1944. I returned to my combat unit in March of 1945.
